Would oxbridge ever accept me?

I haven't done a levels yet but am taking bio chem and maths.
I got 8877777766. 8=maths 7-bio and 7 in chem. the 6's were in engineering and eng lang.
I already asked on here whether i would be accepted and got told definitely not for oxford which i understand, but would i have a chance of Cambridge.

I know it depends on my a level grades and UCAS but lets js say they end up being good enough for oxbridge, would my GCSEs come in the way?

Cambridge evaluates holistically, meaning everything will be taken into account. If you have a good admissions test and top predicted grades + good personal statement, there is no reason for you not to receive an interview invite. Cambridge interviews most applicants after all.

GCSEs really come into play if they are comparing you with another applicant and need another point of comparison, to which the person with higher GCSEs overall will be looked upon more favorably. But who knows? It's a slight disadvantage, but it shouldn't deter you from applying.

What subject would you be thinking of taking? Are you from a deprived background or failing school? All these things are relevant.

If you got the highest in ur school, then thats an advantage. Go to a state school and live in a bad area? Bonus points. They look at every grade contextually and compare your grades with other people in ur secondary school. If u went to a grammar school, the hinders ur chances a bit, but the course u r applying for also matters a lot because there are some courses that u would just get in because of 50% acceptance rate. But other courses receive lots more applications and are a lot competitive.
if ur grades compare good against other people in ur year group at secondary, u will prob get interview

The thing is i wanna take biology since i wanna go into medicine which is very competitive:/. I wouldn't say im from a VERY deprived background, but i mean i've gotten things like free school meals, 6th form bursary, and my family's lived in housing accommodation before like hotels. Not failing school tho, GCSE grades mentioned above:smile:

i would suggest not to think about it right now. you would know whether u would apply or not as time progresses and based on how you are getting with ur a levels
