Do you prefer choir versions? I'm trying to find modern examples.

Choir versions are a good idea! and I know a good one which would pleases you, I am sure. But I have forgotten the name. By all means, continue on the carols. I am listening to another ones you have already posted. It is the ideal thread to get the Christmas mood. When I remember the song, I will give an answer.

Joy to the World!

A very good and modern version of a classic Christmas song. Still the one I like the most, goody! :yep:

It's easy to find them but it's not what I want to do here. You might be thinking of the choir of King's college, Cambridge but it's nicer to see normal churches where people choose to sing.

'O Holy Night'

Another carol that pleases me. Yeah, that is the way of singing that gets me on carols. :h:
Found it! this song is what I have talked about hours ago. Listen and tell me what you think of, @Muttley79. My favorite modern carol!

See post #16 - the version you posted is a bit too twee and American for my taste.

The performance, sure. But this really gets me in both instruments and voices. Being emotive or not.

Hark the Herald angels sing!

A Christmas carol with E-guitars sound better than I expected. Thumps up for the singers!

Once in Royal David's city

That is a carol I am listening for the first time, no kidding. The lyrics is really not familiar and known to me.

It usually starts the traditional 9 lessons and carols with a soloist singing the first verse unaccompanied.

O little town of Bethlehem

Best carol to begin with December 24, the lyrics are a match. I wish you a merry Christmas!
