Any help/ tips on how to increase grades and is there hope?

Hi guys!

I’m not doing my best on my a levels (Sociology, Fine art) and btec (Health and social care) rn☹️.

My predicted is acc SO unbelievably low too (CCMerit) and I rly need (DistinctionBB-BBMerit) is there any way possible I can achieve this as of my actual exams next year or boost my predictions now?

Plus can my personal statement outshine my grades at all? Or will my uni choices solely focus on matching grade requirements and predictions?

I’m so stressed and feel like it’s so out of reach for me as this is the first time I’ve been given a set grade I’m working towards, otherwise if I had known this is how I’m working currently I would’ve started working towards higher, I’m just so full of regrets and don’t know what to do now. Y13 is definitely not easy 💔

Go and talk to the relevant teachers before the Christmas break, and ask for their help - this is exactly what they are there for,

Its best to focus on one subject at a time, don't keep switching between subjects in a panic. Do a whole day on one subject, do it methodically going through the course materials/notes from the start and working out the areas you don't understand or where you don't have notes/resources etc.

(And get off social media - actually turn your phone off - its a terrible time-waste/distraction)

Please don’t worry - universities review your application as a whole and consider your qualifications, skills, and experience. This means your personal statement is just as important as your grades. Predicted grades give universities an indication, but your actual results are what ultimately matter.

Predicted grades do matter - and are increasingly far more important than the PS.
