A professional procrastinators GYG

Hi! I'm M and this is my GYG because i need to be held publicly accountable for my sheer lack of studying.

Why tf am i doing my GCSEs in one year?
Last year i did some cie IGCSEs and got a C (60-69% is the uniform percentage mark for what's needed for that grade n then that's scaled using grade boundaries n stuff bcz not everyone can get an A*) in bio, math, eng, phy, another subject I'm not gonna repeat and a B (70-79% is upm to get that grade) in chemistry and another subject. All of these subjects were done as higher unless there was no foundation in which case i just did the exams. Also, i have dyslexia (diagnosed) and used to get extra time and stuff in england but the the school abroad was sooo ableist they thought they could make me stop being dyslexic by telling me to try to read the letters not backwards (not even how my dyslexia works btw) so you can imagine the lack of exam accomodations i got. Anyways, these grades would be good enough grades to get me into alevels at the school i was already at. But then i stopped studying abroad and came back to england (YAY 🎉🎉🎉, i missed home here soooo much). And schools here literally treat my IGCSEs like half a gcse (they're EQUIVALENTS) and round down my grades so badly that a B became like a 4. I know that's not how it works like there's no way in hell 70-79% on an igcse is a 4 but they wouldn't listen. So now I'm gonna do my GCSEs in the following

SUBJECTS:
Higher Chemistry
Higher Biology
Higher Maths
English language
Maybe higher physics linear edexcel igcse, unlike the others subjects I'm gonna have to take that one privately bcz my school doesn't offer it and I'm still getting that sorted out so idk yet. But if u know any resources to study that topic pls lmk.

GOALS:
Hoping to get 8s in my gcses (9s are def unrealistic) or bare minimum 7s because that's what's needed to do the subjects i wanna do in alevels. And my mocks are gonna be in like a month so I'm using this to track progress. Also hoping to get at least 30/100 on my chem and bio mocks (obviously i wanna do better than that but like bare minimum) because otherwise the school will make me do foundation for those subjects in the actual GCSEs.

CURRENT GRADES:
Excluding mocks i kinda need a point to check progress from now and not my igcses that were a while ago. So I'm using my grades so far for each of the topic/module assessment we've done so from have been as an anchor point
7 (1 mark off of 8 ughhh) and an 8 in chem
3 in maths (how tf did i get worse??? Pls drop y'alls math tips bcz i suck so bad at ts)
The first bio test we all had to do foundation and i got 92% so a 5. Next one i did higher and got a 6 (1 mark off of a 7, still mad abt ts)
English language we weren't given grades but i remember i got around 60 or like 65%.

Anyways, if i do not post here for a day y'all are fully allowed to ask wtf I'm doing bcz i cannot study unless ik there's immediate consequences and unfortunately that makes me really good at procrastinating.

Hello! I'm also doing iGCSEs, so first of all, it's absolutely terrible that your school's treating iGCSEs as a lesser spec! For one, in Maths iGCSEs (higher), we learn MORE circle theorems than normal - as if the usual theorems aren't enough!! Also, iGCSEs are either set up by Cambridge or Edexcel, both very reputable sources of education, so I really don't get why your school doesn't see that.

Anyways good luck with your GYG! Your grades are already looking great! If you need any help with resources (and Maths) you can always ask me
