Offer Holder Day

Hi, I wanted to ask a question about offer holders days.

I applied to the same uni as one of my friends. I applied in October, and she applied in November.
We both got into the course that we applied for, but only she has been contacted about a uni offer holders day.
Is this because we applied for different courses, and therefore we attend different offer holder days because her course is doing this one, and mine isn’t?
Or should I have also been contacted about this offer holder day?

I’m just a bit confused as to why only she has been contacted about it and not me, considering I have had my offer for almost two months, and she has had it for about a week.

Thank you!!

Yes - Unis will hold different days for different subject groups. Often these days are held on a 'working day' so having thousands of extra people there is obvious unfeasible, and staff have other responsibilities (like teaching ...) hence splitting them up across different days/weeks.

So i shouldn’t be worried that she has been invited to an offer day before me, (i havent had any emails at all about it) even though i applied and got my offer like 1 month before her?

Hi there,

Firstly - congrats on getting your offer - great news 🙂

As above, different courses run their invitations on different timescales and so I wouldn't worry yet. One thing I'd recommend however is that you check your spam folder in your emails, because sometimes uni admin ends up in there which could include an offer holder day invitation.

If you still have not received an invitation around 2-3 week after Christmas, I would recommend ringing your uni's admissions team as they may be able to get one forwarded to you or at least give you an update on when you can expect one.

Hoping this helps a bit, best of luck
