MPharm Interviews

Hi guys! I sent off my UCAS application on the 26th November and I applied to Bath, Birmingham, Sheffield, Swansea, Portsmouth!
I’ve got Interview invites for Portsmouth and Sheffield! Ive done my interview for Swansea.
I’m just praying Bath and Birmingham get back to me soon🙏

Ive got 3 questions so I’d really appreciate help😭❤️
Does anyone know how fast after interviews do universities normally take to give out offers?
How can I properly prepare for my Portsmouth interview and my Sheffield interview, what kind of questions should I be aware of?
How long do Bath or Birmingham normally take to give out interview invites?
Hi there 😊

I'm a current pharmacy student here at Bath so I can answer a few questions.

I applied quite early on for the pharmacy courses (Oct/Nov). I only heard back about an interview offer in March time so fairly late on. Usually at Bath, they only tend to review all the applications after the UCAS deadline in order to be fair amongst applicants. But within those interview offers, there are applicant visit days that you can attend to take a look at the university and ask any questions to the lecturers and professors.

For interview prep, there are guides on the StudentRoom which some may be specific and general as well. I would say know the Standards of Pharmacy Professional and maybe some where you can show you have demonstrated the skills. Then the generic "why pharmacy", "why this university" type of questions is good to prepare but make sure you don't over-rehearse it either. Also have some practice at some basic pharmaceutical maths related questions if it is required as part of the interview so you are fully prepared!

So please do not stress that you have not heard anything back yet. In terms of offers after the interview, it can vary from university to university and what the time of year it is. So please don't stress and know that they're are fully reviewing your application.

I hope this helps and please let me know of any more questions

Every Uni has a different timetable for interviews and offers, so really don't worry! Many don't interview until after the UCAS January deadline - and those interviews can continue up to March/April.

Hi Poppychad, 👋

Congrats on receiving interview invites!

Here you will be able to read a little more about the pharmacy application process at Sheffield, including the interview process, interview advice and when you might hear back. Depending on when your interview is, you could hear back any time between January and April. But if you do your interview and don't hear back for a short while, you can always get in touch to query this.

I hope this helps, please let me know if you have any further questions and I would be more than happy to help. 😃

All best wishes,
Phoebe

Hi,

Universities can differ in when they respond. Some give offers soon after interviews, while others wait until closer to (or even after) the UCAS deadline as all applicants are given equal consideration.

To prepare for pharmacy interviews, I’d recommend reviewing your reasons for wanting to study the course and why you’ve chosen that particular university. It’s also helpful to go over GPhC values, situational judgement/ ethical scenarios, organic chemistry and basic pharmaceutical calculations.

Hope this helps, good luck with your application!
