GCSE oral help!

Hello!!
I've just finished my Spanish mock oral and i thought it went TERRIBLE- and that's not an understatement. A few of my sentences broke down into awkward silence and I used the conditional for a past tense situation, among other mistakes.

I would speak before thinking so I would get halfway through my sentences and just get lost, even though my questions were relatively simple.
Does anybody have any tips they found useful for the oral that they'd be willing to share? I desperately want to improve as I'm taking Spanish A level and don't want to start on the backfoot.
Thank you

Hi! I got a 9 in my gcse Spanish so hopefully I can help. Was there a specific part of the exam you found hard? Or did you have the same issues for the whole thing?

I'm not sure if it's the same throughout all exam boards (I do edexcel) but the 5 minute conversation was definitely the worst but the rest I thought I did okay in.
