Foundation year

I recently got my offer back from Manchester met saying i was rejected from my graphic design choice, i am a bit disappointed but am going to try apply for the art foundation year but am confused on how to apply? I understand that the application date does not start until the 5th on jan but is this done through ucas and is there any additional fees. As well should i create a separate portfolio to the one i submitted earlier ? Some guidance would be helpful , thank you .

Hi @al3k5

Sorry to hear you were rejected for Graphic Design. It may help to get feedback on your application if you are thinking of reapplying, even if it's for a different course. You can contact the Art & Design Admissions team here: [email protected].

Applications for our UAL Foundation Diploma in Art and Design course do open on 5th January and they are submitted direct to the university, through our application portal. There are some guidelines on applying via the portal
via the following link: https://www.mmu.ac.uk/study/postgraduate/how-to-apply.

There are also portfolio guidelines on the course webpage (see previous link), but as I said it may be worth trying to get some feedback on your previous application, before submitting your Foundation Diploma application.

If you have any questions about the Foundation Diploma course or the application process, feel free to get in touch with our Course Enquiries team at [email protected] or on 0161 247 6969. They also have a Live Chat here.

I hope this helps,
Mel 😊
