English Language and Literature

Hello, I’m really struggling with my English grades, exams and revision

I had gotten grade 2 in both subjects in year 10 but now in year 11 I have only gotten 3 in both despite me thinking I had improved a lot, although I did skip a 16 marker in the language and 20marker in the literature this time due to lack of time as I tend to spend so much time on questions which did affect my marks. However I still find both subjects really tasking and difficult for me. Any suggestions please?

Heyy,
The biggest thing in English language is to complete the paper !! Statistically, people who finish the whole paper have better chances with passing. Practise past papers and be strict on the timing. I also planned two a stories before the exam, I just edited it a bit to fit the criteria.. it is the best time saver. Make sure to have some good metaphors pre planned and just make it fit to the theme.

For literature, I used Physics and math tutor with the themes. (https://www.physicsandmathstutor.com/english-revision/) It is a life saver! Create a mind map for each theme and jot down the quotes they relate to.

Yeah I didn’t plan not to do the questions, I just didn’t have enough time at all
