Offer for Computer Science at Edinburgh

I heard it's very competitive at Uni of Edinburgh for comp sci. Is it realistic for me to apply there with predicted grades A*AB in econ, maths and graphics?

As a Scottish student, I sent my application off for this course on Monday. I got 7A’s in my N5’s, AAAAB in my Highers and I’m predicted for this year to get AA in my Highers and AB in the advanced Highers I’m doing.

Maybe if you are contextual and/or have a good personal statement with a lot of supercurriculars.

I'm not eligible for contextual unfortunately, I think I have a strong personal statement, but I havent done loads of supercurriculars. I wrote about completing a MOOC from Uni of York and practising coding by myself in my personal statement. Do you know if they take diversity and stuff like that into account?

You meet the range of grades required, so your application will be considered, and if you have a strong personal statement, then you have a good chance. They might give you an offer based on diversity, but the grades required to meet the offer will not be lowered (as they are in a contextual offer). I have an offer from Edinburgh for Comp Sci and I wrote about particular projects that I made, not just general "I practiced coding", so if you have projects listed in your personal statement, that should count as good supercurriculars.

hi! i'd say it's worth it if you have a spare slot - don't quote me on this but edinburgh feels like it's being a lil more lenient this year i'm a scottish student and got an unconditional with 5As but my personal statement + refs were.. meh, and one of my friends got electronics & cs unconditional with a B - both really quickly too, they've been on the ball with it!
