Do people genuinely get computer science offers for aspirational universitiesc?

I lowk messed up and got A*A*B and I’ve been wanting to go kings college but they need A*A*A.

I’m still holding hope cause my teachers and friends have said my personal statement is really really good, but im still quite pessimistic. So im just wondering if there is actually anyone out there that has achieved an offer to computer science at top unis, when they’re slightly below the grade requirements????

Also are universities lenient if the subject they got a lower grade on is in an irrelevant subject to the course?? For example, I got a B in film studies, but two A*s in maths and computer science (yes I do regret dropping physics).

ALSOOOO I already have two offers to Bristol and Durham, but is kings or bath better graduate propsects wise. I’ve looked at a lot of lists and everything is saying something different.

Sorry for the whole letter and weak questions, im genuinely just worried.

if you are contextual, then u r prob getting considered
entry requirements are there for a reason, and since kings is quite competitive for comp sci, im not sure.
They will prob consider u if u got good gcse grades, and good ps.
Out of interest, what were ur gcses and what super curriculars have u talked in ur ps?

I’m concerned cause I am contextual, buttttt their contextual offer is AAA, and I don’t have that third A unfortunately. But I saw someone got in with A*AB with contextual so I’ll see hopefully.

I got 9888887765 in my GCSEs. I talked about Bristol summer school, Durham summer school, two CS work placements, leading a team in a hackathon, front end design in personal projects, my part time job, and getting awards usually given to undergraduates.

I’m definitely some more stuff. Also I want to add some more stuff but 4000 characters make me want to cry loool. But I talked about all of these in “a really really good” way. I hope it’s enough and makes me stand out a lil. Thank you 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

not gonna lie, your super curriculars are amazing.
if someone got in with A*AB, then u too have a solid chance since those grades add up to the same ucas points
you have a solid chance, dw about it, ur gcses are good as well.
after u are made an offer, you will prob get offer conditions as AAA, and you will prob get in if you are 2 grades below that on ur actual results day...
don't stress about it too much, ur contextual so u have a solid chance
