As a mature student, applying for a BSc in Public Health can be a perfect option, particularly if you are interested in health promotion, community wellbeing, or working within health and social care settings. Mature applicants are welcome and valued, with life and work experience taken into account alongside academic qualifications.
If you are also considering Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU), we offer Public Health-related programmes and strongly support mature learners through flexible learning, academic skills support, and pastoral services. Your suitability would be assessed holistically, and we would be happy to advise you on entry routes, including Access or foundation pathways if required. Hi @Apannu,

Thank you for your message and patience. It's great to hear that you are thinking of applying to study with us. Here, at the University of Lancashire, we have many mature students. There is often a mix of ages within majority of the courses, so it isn't something to worry about. I remember studying with students a year or two younger, my age but also older than me.

Here's some more info about our course but you can also find more such as entry requirements here. You'll cover a range of public health disciplines including health protection, healthy settings, epidemiology, media and communication, along with issues relating to public health. You’ll look at planning, strategies and public health in action. This will include key themes such as diet and nutrition, children and young people, healthy settings and the media. We use action learning and case studies to underpin theory and the need to work in partnership and engage in reflective practice.

If you do have any further questions feel free to ask or contact the relevant team here.

Best wishes,
^Zac
