How to meet with this guy without any misunderstandings?

There is a guy lJames Last spring semester, I was taking a math course, and we had a lab session once a week. In these sessions, we solved questions on computers through a platform called WebWork. The sessions were usually run by a student assistant. One week, the student assistant could not attend, and this guy came instead.

While I was solving the questions, I was talking with my friend. As he was walking lengthwise through the lab, he came all the way to our row and stopped there, but he never went behind us. Anyway, my friend finished and left, but he continued doing the same thing. I should not have done this, but after that incident, around June, I saw him at school and turned my head to look back at him two times.

This semester, we also had a course in common. For the second or third week of November, I did not look at him at all; I came to class earlier than him, and when my class ended, I left immediately. However, I could tell that he was looking at me — not because I was looking at him. I do not have a crush on this guy, and I am sure he does not like me either. If you ask why he looks at me, men are stupid and curious, so it is probably because of that — but I do not even know what he is curious about.

I want to get to know him, but he thinks that I have a crush on him, even though I do not. I do not know how to handle this.

Casually mention your boyrfriend or crush and ask for help with an issue regarding them. Doesn't matter if the issue is fake, or if the person is fake, but it will get him to back off easy without you having to confront him directly.
