Drop out question

Ok so right now I’m in third year finished first semester but I want to drop out. But I’m not sure what happens to my qualifications emailed my programme leader but he’s not responded, I just got done doing some of my third year assessments but used ECS form on two of them because I’m struggling mentally to finish them. So I’ve heard that you can get a diploma of higher education certificate who do I speak to, to get this. I have 240 credits right now.

You should be awarded a Diploma of Higher Education, yes. The programme lead will give you more information whenever they reply, which obviously won't be today as it's the weekend. If you emailed them, say, a week ago and they haven't replied, drop them another email, else just wait. You might also want to drop an email to your personal tutor, if you have one.

But why drop now? You are so close to the end now, you might as well see through the whole degree.

Hi,

Yes, if you’ve completed your second year of university, you’re usually eligible for a Diploma of Higher Education.

I’d recommend waiting for your programme leader to reply and also speaking with your personal tutor, as they can guide you on the next steps.

Wishing you all the best,

Hi,

In most cases, 240 credits equal a diploma of higher education, so you’re eligible for a formal qualification. Also, you shouldn’t lose credits if you withdraw properly. When it comes to the ECS form, using it is completely valid and won’t negatively affect your eligibility for an exit award.

Try and contact student services/ student support to ask for direction to exit awards. I hope this helped, best of luck!
