Social circles

Does anyone actually enjoy being in big groups in school/ sixth form. I feel like it’s so hard to make connections and be quite intimidating, but it seems like everyone wants to be in big, loud, outgoing, adventurous social circles.

Large friend groups are nice but honestly I prefer small friend groups, I mean it’s better to have 1 real friend than 20 fake friends right?

A lot of people struggle in groups that large, or loud groups regardless of the size. You shouldn't feel that you're in any way not normal for feeling like that. Even if you do have a large number of good friends or people you want to spend time with, there's nothing wrong at all with arranging to spend time with them one on one or in small groups rather than with everyone at once. It's a case where you should very much do what you feel comfortable with.
