How do I revise for alevels

I do sociology, french and history (1J and 2P) all AQA and rn I'm predicted a ABB (A in sociology)
I wanna end up with AAA tho

I have no idea how to revise whatsoever, I don't like flashcards or rewriting notes so I just have no idea what to do and the fact I'm unmotivated and cannot get off my phone doesn't help

French is deffo the hardest since I am not native and got a 6 in GCSE so it's very very hard, history there is just so much content and idk how to memorize it / revise it and sociology is fine just I find it hard to memorize studies and stuff as well as exam structure

But yeah I need help I'm genuinely clueless for GCSEs I did very little revision but I actually want to lock in for alevels it just feels impossible since all I want to do is go on tiktok, watch anime and read ao3

But yeah I have dyslexia and also get extra time so timing myself is still a problem but less big it's more just actually knowing and revising and I KNOW I should get off my phone and just do it I just have no idea where to start so I get even more unmotivated and end up well here

If anyone has any tips on how to revise and how to somehow motivate myself let me know it would be super appreciated cuz I feel like a loser I do NOTHING and I need to lock in if I want to get good grades obvi

okay I've been talking to much somoene anyone pls help thank you 🙏🙏❤️*🩹

I did AQA A Level Spanish, as a non-native speaker, so I can imagine it’s quite similar. For speaking and writing honestly practice is the most important thing. If you don’t know any French speakers to talk with, use AI. And get your teacher to mark your essays every week if they aren’t already. For paper 1, genuinely practice questions are amazing. And learning the vocab super well by testing yourself on it regularly. For grammar I liked to use Seneca to practice. Also turn your phone into French, watch French TikTok and Netflix and try teaching it to your family.

Hey @clairforest222,

Personally, I revised by breaking down each of my subjects into topics based on the specification. I would then dedicate a few hours a week to revising that particular topic and answering any relevant past paper questions I could find on it. I realised early on that if I tried to revise 'A-Level Chemistry' as a whole I wouldn't get anywhere; if I was revising a specific topic within Chemistry, I had a much clearer goal and I felt like I was making constant progress with my revision.

You're not far off your target grades, but if you're struggling with motivation try to set yourself realistic goals/rewards. For example, one hour of revision could be rewarded with an episode of anime or twenty minutes on your phone.

Hope this helps and best of luck,
Eve (Kingston Rep).
