LSE MSc Finance vs LBS MFA, any first-hand experience?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently trying to make a final decision between the LSE MSc in Finance and the LBS Master in Financial Analysis, and I would really appreciate any first-hand feedback from people who have been through either programme or who recruit in these areas.

For context, I come from an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from a top 3–4 university in South Korea. In terms of experience, I’ve completed one internship in an alternative asset management firm, where I worked as a Product Specialist on three real estate equity funds ranging from €1bn to €6bn AUM. Beyond that, my background is still fairly junior.

My target roles are in Sales & Trading, Asset Management (especially alternatives), and potentially long/short equity hedge funds.

I’ve been fortunate enough to receive offers from both LBS (MFA) and LSE (MSc Finance), but I’m still genuinely torn:

LSE seems more quantitative and technical, which feels relevant for S&T and HF roles.

LBS appears stronger on networking and structured career support, which might matter a lot given how tough the job market currently is.

Given my relatively limited experience, I’m trying to understand which option would be more effective in practice for breaking into these fields.

If anyone has gone through either programme (or both), or has insights from the recruiting side, I’d love to hear:

How each programme is perceived for S&T / AM / HF roles

Whether one is more advantageous for a junior profile like mine

Any hindsight advice you wish you had when choosing

Thanks a lot in advance, any input would be hugely appreciated. (and plz if possible, not a "LBS by far" without any precision.. because I would like to understand each pov in detail)
