I'm not sure about sociology. I don't want to be a lawyer but from what i''ve heard from my friend, sociology is just a mix between criminology and health & social care. I'm not saying you shouldn't do sociology, but have geography as an option just incase you change your mind.

Hey @heidi-annejames,

That looks a great A-Level combination for Law; you have three strong essay subjects. Law degrees tend to focus less on which subjects you choose and more on the grades you achieve, so make sure you're choosing subjects you believe you can excel in.

Best of luck!

ive heard its not recommended by many unis as its kinda redundant. id rather do 3 strong subjects that arent law

If you dont like geography, why dont you try english lit? im pretty sure all you do is dissect texts and stuff and just go really into detail. If it sounds like something youd be interested in, look it up at your sixth form and see if it interests you ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I dont see how it’s redundant, I get it not being recommended as you might have to relearn some elements, but I took it alongside politics and it has been massively helpful not only with knowing the IRAC writing style but already understand how the law flows if that makes sense? Especially if you want a career in law in the future, I don’t see why you would delay studying it if youre passionate about it.

If not, I second the person who said english literature, as it helps with some elements of essay writing - although university style essays are much closer to the style of a-level politics, and problem questions are the exact same as a-level law

Any essay based subjects are fine for law. History / Politcs / Eng Lit etc all good options. Whatever you think will interest you and that you will get good grades in.
