Happy to answer Dentistry interview questions

Hi!
I’m a first-year Dentistry student at King’s, and I know how stressful interviews can feel when you're preparing.
If anyone wants to ask about MMI structure, common themes, or what helped me when I was applying, feel free to ask here or DM me

Happy to share what I can from my experience

Hi, I'm also applying to King's this year and have my interview soon (in 2 days). What were the main themes that came up in your interview? Was there anything unexpected? And how did u go about revising?

Hi, honestly i'd say kings interviews are honestly pretty fair, they're not trying to catch you out or anything. Nothing super unexpected came up but they do throw some questions that make you think on your feet (ethical situations). To revise the main thing I did was practice as much as possible, it gets you used to speaking out loud and helps with nerves on the day. Go through previous questions and you should be fine on the day. Biggest tips i would say are stay calm on the day, answer with structure and you'll smash it. All the best of luck, you've got this

hi, how much per day/week did you revise for your interviews? and what method did u find the most useful? thanks xx

I used to do about 4 hours a week consistently, but a bit more when i got closer to the inteview date. in terms of methods, i just used to practice with whoever would listen, its good to speak outloud. being able to formulate a coherent answer in your head is good but its very different putting it into words. I would even record myself and play it back to pick up on body language.

hey sorry i know im not op and theyll be able to give better insights but i applied kcl dent last year and although i got 99999999988 A*A*A, i still got rejected because my ucat was mid (2710 b1). so yeah they say they value gcses a lot, more than most other unis, but the reality is that it’s still mostly all about ucat sadly. best of luck

hi no worries  again haha op defo got a much higher ucat than me so their answer will be better. regardless, i mainly used medify, literally spammed questions for a few hours every day (with a few days off here and there). i did a couple of the medify mocks too and a lot of mini mocks as it doesn’t take as much time. i revised for about 5 weeks. i also found emil eddy on youtube helpful, but also joyel george who not as many people know about. joyel was more helpful than any other vids/channels i watched.

what i would’ve done differently to get a higher score is to revise for longer (6-7 weeks instead) and to do it more consistently i.e. instead of 8 hours one day and 2 hours the next, id do 3 or 4 hours everyday perhaps. this is to avoid burnout and fatigue. i would also do all four of the official ucat mocks because those are most accurate to the real thing. hope this helps a bit x

Hi! I was wondering if you can give any tips or advice on kings interviews? I am very nervous as I don’t have much time to prepare . Also wanted to ask how many questions do they ask and do they ask a question for each category such as motivation to study dent, ethics, skills, work experience, hot topics etc.
