Oxford DPhil Population Health - 2026 Entry

Thought I'd start a thread for all of us who applied for Oxford's DPhil in Population Health.

How were your conversations with your prospective supervisors? Mine was very helpful but also kept stressing that it's such a competitive process.

Good luck to everyone!

How is it stressfull? My supervisors reviewed my proposal and allowed me to use their names in the application as prospective supervisors. I am really stressed about full-funding acholarships.

I did not get any. The portal shows "ready for assessment". I think the Department is closed until 5th of Dec.

No interview invite here yet. Read someone's theory on another thread about how if the 'upload' button on your applicant profile has disappeared it means they've made some sort of decision about moving you forward or rejecting your application. Saw that mine disappeared. Anyone else's?

My bad, mine is still there too. It didn't load when I checked on mobile but it's there when I use my desktop

I didn't mean they were stressed, more that they emphasized that it was a very competitive process. Fingers crossed for all of us!

Thanks everyone for contributing to the thread. Did you apply to an advertised project or propose one of your own? I applied to an advertised one.

I saw on reddit/the general postgrad TSR that a couple of people received interview invites today. Not sure if all invites have been sent out or if they'll come out in batches though...

I haven't received an interview invite.. definitely very anxious now. Hopefully they send it out in batches - has anyone emailed admissions to check?

Can I ask if you're international applicants? I am from Asia

A mentor of mine (not from Oxford) mentioned that due to US funding cuts and US institutions taking on less graduate students, universities in Europe are receiving more demand and there's maybe a trend in taking on more candidates from their own region.
