Loughborough Industrial Design

Hi, I am year 13 student currently studying Design Technology, physics and economics. I have predicted AAC, with the C in physics and recently applied to Loughborough’s industrial design course. I haven’t heard back and understand it will take time for a response, but considering the entry requirements are ABB, will this heavily reduce my chances of getting in? I am worried as I know design is fairly competitive for Loughborough.

Hi, I applied to Loughborough around a week and a half ago for Industrial Design BA, and was wondering if anyone has received an email back? They have not yet contacted me about the portfolio task, so I was wondering if anyone who applied to the course has heard back yet.

Hey y'all. Another Lboro ID applier here! I applied in early December and got my portfolio invitation 20 days later. I sent them the portfolio the day I got the invite, and now its been 16 days since that. I'm guessing lboro is no.1 for all of us, and I wanna ask 2 things:

1.

What other unis did you guys apply to?

2.

When do you think we can expect getting offers?

Hey congrats! ABB is right. Quite possibly the best design uni in the UK (at least in my opinion). I hope you chose to firm it. See you on campus!

Hi sorry for the late reply, I don't think so unfortunately... I am an international student and I'll probably be getting my student visa towards the summer and therefore won't be able to attend any open days... But I already have the entire internet at the palm of my hand so I don't see that as a big loss to be completely honest, although it would be nice to see the campus with my own eyes! I'm so happy that I got in and I'm absolutely 100 percent sure that this is the perfect uni for my career goals, my study ambitions, and also the exact type of design that I want to pursue; both conceptual, ergonomics based and user experience based but with technical aspects as well, its the perfect balance of both design worlds. I'm sure you'll get an offer from UAL as well but personally I would prefer that you choose lboro because I think its so much better, but I might be biased after the offer a bit lol... but I remember saying the same exact stuff before I applied too about lboro being the best design uni in the uk, and I'm glad to be going there next year. Anyways, congrats again!

Thank you!!! Congrats on ur offer, and I wish you the best with the exams! I also agree with lboro being the best option for product design and will def choose to firm it!! When I visited it on open day, it was a really great environment for the students, and I loved how they were really involved in many design competitions . I am really excited for uni and hope to see you there next year!! I, too have also hyped up lboro since forever, and am really grateful to have got an offer. Congrats, congrats , and all the best ))

Oh yeah, visiting it and seeing it up close must've made you feel nice! Btw, I would love for a chance to connect if you're up to it if you're looking to chat with anyone to exchange career goals and ambitions, future plans, loughborough plans etc.
