Scottish uni economics offers

Has anyone heard back from Edinburgh, Strathclyde or Glasgow economics yet? I applied 3 weeks ago and I’ve not heard back from any of these courses when do you think I will? I achieved AAABB in my sqa highers and I’m taking AH maths and computing and higher mods and geography, AAAB predicted (B in geography)

It would make sense for a rejection to be based if your PS wasn’t about economics, what was ur PS about?

It was about mathematics but I thought since they closely linked I should still have a chance with my grades and predicts. I emailed asking about why I was rejected and it seems they want an in-depth ps about why you want to study this subject, they also mentioned having very strong applicants this year. Hope this helps.

I got an offer from Glasgow econ late October but I applied I think on the 7th of October or earlier. Idk when you'll get an offer Ik some others that are still waiting but I also know one girl in my year who's also got a offer from Glasgow econ. It's more or less just when they get to your application. As for Edinburgh I don't know anyone with an offer for economics (I do know maths, bio and med interviews) yet and I didn't apply to strath so can't help. And you didn't mention St Andrews but if you are waiting on them they won't reply for ages unless you're international ofc 🤑🤑🤑. If I had to guess now it's nearly Christmas I wouldn't imagine admissions to send out offers till new years pure speculation ofc but it seems unlikely. Wouldn't worry tho I've had one offer in like 2.5 months and will be waiting another month until I'll get my next decision, just how it is I guess.

May I ask what grades you got on your highers? I got AAABB (A’s in maths and English) so I have the grade requirements, will this mean I have to wait longer? As I’ll be in a lower applicant pool

I got 5As at higher. Again I'm not sure, A's in Maths and English is good tho as that's one of Glasgows filters. You may well have to wait longer but I really don't know they might wait until later to give you an offer and then ask for some grades at advanced higher as a condition. Infact I think they will ask for conditions probably 2-3 higher As (or advanced higher Bs). Also depends on how many applicants they have this year obv oh and your personal statement might matter idk if Glasgow econ department reads them or not (I'm not sure the accounting admission tutors read them as a friend got an offer back in less the 24hrs so I don't believe they read sh*t).
