Is this a good shortlist and what should be my first choice?

My choices for game development next year are College of Esports, Kingston University, Greenwich University, Wrexham University and University Centre Leeds.

My primary choice WAS College of Esports due to the fact that I went there a few times as a trip with my college and I know a few people there but have heard it's more on the niche side of the business whereas Kingston is one of the best for game development in London.

When is the deadline to decide my main choice as my UCAS application didn't ask for it (I have not sent it off yet as I am waiting for my teachers reference).

Just be aware that these privately funded colleges are volatile and many have gone under at short notice, or simply evaporated, leaving students with no way to finish their degrees.

You don't make a "main choice" yet. You submit your 5 options, see what responses you get, then make your firm (main) and insurance (back up) choices. The others are rejected.

Deadline for equal consideration by which time you have to submit your application to UCAS: 14th January
Deadline to make your firm and insurance choices: 6th May (IF you receive your last decision by 31st March).

So you have plenty of time to see what offers you get, to think about your choice thoroughly and where you think you'd be happiest and most secure in your degree and student life.

Hey!

Deadline to firm your choices isn't until later in the year, if I remember correctly it's around early June time and a quick google has told me it's the 3rd. (I'd double check just in case)

I didn't firm a choice until just before that when I applied as I was still conflicted between College of Esports and University of Staffordshire for a long time, so you have plenty of time to make your decision and I hope you make the one that's best for you :smile:
