i have also applied to glasgow for maths

im still waiting to hear back and if im honest im not sure at all what i’ll get off of them
i went to a ucas fair a few months ago and the lady at the ggow stall said they wouldn’t even consider me with my grades (didn’t hit S5 minimum), and i dont say that to be negative, just to be honest
i got the same grades as you (A computing and spanish, B maths, C english and rmps) plus i’m predicted As in my adv courses (maths and computing) plus A in H rmps and B in H english
i have unconditionals for maths at aberdeen and stirling at the moment, so hope the best for us!!!

Does you school have a good track record for predicted grades and had you done your prelims beforehand? I think my biggest weakness is my C in advanced maths predicted I’m going to try get in put up to a B but my school but my school has stated that they were done before prelims.

i want to say no and that their predictions suck cause they lowkey sniped me last year (i was predicted AAAAB and got AABCC???) but they let me pick my predicted grades anyways (i tried to be realistic while yk, exaggerating a little because my prelims were not exactly fantastic (i was deathly sick while sitting them))
my prelims i did three of in early december, and then i have my computing one on the 11th i think?
im not sure how they’ll put your predicted grades up if your app has already been sent and you’re receiving offers tho

You can change predicted grades until the very last day to send away your UCAS. I’m not sure I understand but your school let you pick your predictions?

and yes, they did let me choose lol (i agree that it’s kind of mad) but they didn’t have any definite grades because i hadn’t sat all my prelims yet (i’d sat the first one literally the day before) but i really did try and be realistic with myself

Are you planning on doing just Maths(G100) as I’ve looked at the requirements and it says they require an A at higher mathematics. I’ve been told changes are possible until last date for UCAS. Also do you meet any extenuating circumstances like target school etc?

i think it’s G101 i applied for, the masters course? thought i’d get it done and over with asap
and i know im definitely pushing it with my B, but im hoping with a predicted A at adv that might sway them (i promise that was realistic, i did get my teachers opinions before making my own decisions)
and yeah no i dont think i apply for any circumstances, i think my school got moved up from being a target school a few years ago so i missed out on that one

Your A predicted in maths definitely helps you out ALOT and can probably make up for B at higher it’s just dependent on wether Glasgow uni see you’re school as a reliable source for predicts as of not they often disregard predictions and base it on other factors. LMK how your application goes best fo luck.

based on other people’s offers i definitely think we’re probably trustworthy, i think last year was hard on the sqa as a whole so that’s probably where a lot of my grades went anyways (not to remove myself of blame)
