Funding for second BSc

Can anyone advise if the following course is an exception course for a second tuition fee loan?...

BSc Hons Biomedical Sciences
Code: R87
The Open University
Part-time (over 6 years)

I already had a student loan for a BSc in Psychology. I also have a MSc and doctorate in psychology (self -funded). Am I likely to be eligible for the loan?

Hi there,

This looks to be an exception course if studied part time. Just to advise though, there is only a 3 year part time option showing for 25/26. Thanks, Jason

Thanks for your reply. I was looking at a February 2026 start, and on the OU site, the part-time option is showing as 6 years (full time is 3 years)

Hi there, they would need to update this on the database if there is funding for a 6 year option. I would advise checking this with them for clarification. Thanks, Jason
