epq question

Before I begin, I want to offer my sincere thanks for the guidance you have already given me. Turning now to the substance of my question: I am undertaking an EPQ in Law, and I wish to understand whether prior study entirely closes a door. Having already encountered aspects of law through my A-level course, I wonder whether this means I am forbidden from engaging with those same themes again, or whether I am instead permitted and perhaps encouraged to return to them with sharper focus, deeper analysis, and a more independent voice, exploring familiar ground in greater depth than the classroom allows.

When I did my EPQ last year, I was told that there could not be any overlapping with any subjects covered. However, (Obviously still ask your EPQ supervisor) if you focus onto a different aspect of what has been covered, there may be a possibility of you being able to do that question. I.e. You've learnt about judgements in cases, but you might want to look at the question of "To what extent does ex-ante and ex-post have an effect on a judicial decision regarding ... in ..."

But to be completely honest, the best thing to do in this situation is to ask your supervisor, they should know all the complexities and details.
