UCAS reference issues

Hi all,
I'm working hard to get my application done on time but it seems like I hit roadblock after roadblock. My current problem is that I simply cannot provide a reference.

For context, I studied in Turkey, graduated from High School in Turkey, but I am currently in the UK.

Unfortunately, I've either completely lost contact with my teachers, they have simply disappeared off the face of the earth, or they are too busy to write up a reference. Another issue is that the teachers I had the most confidence in simply can't write in English.

I'm really lost and don't want my application to burn because I can't get a reference. Any sort of help would be greatly appreciated.

What are you currently doing / since you’ve been in the uk ? Working? Studying anything since arriving?

Currently looking for work, have been for three months. I had an idea about a tutor i had for a bit who helped out with some English Literature, would they possibly count as a worthwhile reference?

Possible, but I am struggling quite a bit with getting into contact with them and I'm also aware of how busy they are. Would my private tutor work instead or do I absolutely have to go for an ex-teacher?

It would be worth a try at this stage if you have no employer to give you a reference… if you are applying as an international student then they can always get back to you if not enough info.

I would suggest calling your university and seeing if they can offer any help for issues like this. Are you working at the moment, perhaps your employer could be a reference
