Hello! I am Faye, one of the UAL student representatives. It’s completely normal not to receive a portfolio request right away. For UAL courses like the Graduate Diploma in Interior Design at Chelsea, the admissions team often needs time to review your application before deciding whether to invite you to submit work. A delay of several days, or even up to a couple of weeks during busy times, is not usually a bad sign.

As a student representative, my advice is to check your spam or junk folder and your applicant portal. Use this waiting period to improve your portfolio so you can upload it quickly once you receive the invite. If it’s been about 10 to 15 working days with no update, then you should contact Admissions through your portal to confirm that everything on your application is in order.

For UAL undergraduate application and portfolio guidance (how to apply, portfolio tips, uploading work), you can view more information from this link:

If you have any questions about life at UAL, living in London, feel free to ask me here as well!

Best wishes,
Faye
