history to iB?

ok so im here to ask the silly question. I got into Oxford with a contextual offer for history with AAB with B in maths. im probs gonna go the law route but can I do anything else finance related? is it easy? im curious if anyones actually done ib with a BA in history and I know it does sound ridiculous ....
Oxford don't do contextual offers with reduced grades so your claim seems dubious. They may accept applicants who miss their offer requirements on results day, but that is not a contextual offer, that is accepting a near miss applicant. Unless you mean to say you were accepted on the Astrophoria foundation programme, in which case it is clearer to simply say that!

In any event investment banks don't care what degree subject you did for front office analyst roles. There are classics and music graduates working at investment banks in such roles. So history is undoubtedly fine as far as subjects go

Of course, there's still no guarantee even going to Oxford of getting into those careers. Your subject area may not matter much but there are other factors like work experience/summer schemes and such which are important and need to be planned for. Ultimately bear in mind that investment banking grad roles represent a very small proportion of graduate careers, in finance and in general.

So it's not "easy" to get into those careers, and this would be the case whether you did economics and management at Oxford or history at Oxford.
