Alevel grades

I've recently been given some "working at" grades at school, and they're a fair bit lower than I had expected:
OCR economics: C
AQA business: D
Edexcel geography: D
Core maths: not given
I've somehow managed to obtain "very good" effort in all of these subjects, so I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. I'm doing lots of extra reading for geography, but not sure what else I can do for the other 3 subjects? Any advice would be EXTREMELY appreciated!!

Its likely worth speaking to your teachers about this, im sure they'd be happy to give you some advice if you find them after class or shoot them an email 🙂
Without knowing how these grades are calculated it may be difficult to see how you can improve. Essay subjects can be like this to begin with because structure and exam tech can be difficult to get down and a lot of questions will draw links from othe topics so might take more effort with connecting the dots! This is what I've been told anyway so hoping its true!
