Does this course class as integrated foundation year for SFE?

Hello, i need advice regarding my tuition loan.
I have read that if i dropped out of uni first year, i would be able to apply to a different course and have it fully funded- including an integrated foundation year.
The courses i want to study are: Uni of Birmingham Engineering and Physical Sciences Foundation Year (HFJ0)
or
Coventry University Mechanical Engineering MEng/BEng with foundation year HMDF
Both of these state that they are 4/5 year, however after the foundation year the UCAS code will change for both of them and in Birmingham i would choose a specification (eg. mechanical engineering BEng or MEng)
They state that : 'This course functions as a Foundation Year, successful completion of which allows automatic progression on to one of our three-year BEng honours programmes.'
Could someone confirm that i would get funding?

Hi there, for to assist you with your query please answer the following questions:
Are these a Full Time or Part Time course?
How many years of previous study have you used so far?
When are you planning to start your studies?
Thanks, Stephen

Hello, both are full time.
I have just dropped out after doing a term at uni for the first time, so I'm guessing that counts as 1 year.
I'd hopefully be starting them both in September 2026

Hi there,

You’re entitled to funding for the length of your course, plus 1 additional year, minus any years of previous study you have. Here’s the calculation we used: 4+1-1=4 years of funding left for the Tuition Fee Loan. If it was the 5 year course it would be 5+1-1=5 years of funding left for the Tuition Fee Loan. you can also apply for the Maintenance Loan.

Thanks, Drew
