Should i go to LAET??

So i’ve been wanting to go to laet and i’ve applied with predicted grades 68-88999999, but the thing is i’m not apart of those feeder school and i was wondering how much harder it would be to get into laet like what grades would i need to actually get in without being apart of those schools, also im
planning on doing economics, litrature, history and spanish can anyone doing those please give me their honest opinion on those

Im in y13 there!! Id say your grades are amazing so that shouldnt be a problem. Since youre not choosing any science subjects, the 68 (which im assuming is for combined science) shouldnt be a problem. If you were doing a science that would most likely impact you application, though you could just apply for a different subject and switch them on enrollment day. I didn't go to a feeder school either and i didn't feel like it was that big of a disadvantage. I do bio chem and psych and i dropped history so i cant say much for econ, lit and spanish. I dropped history in y12 mostly because the amount of content you need to cover was insane. By march of y12 (bare in mind thats only 7 months in) it feels like we had coverd the equivalent of 3/4 of what i did at gcse. Also one of the teachers is super boring but the other one is amazing. I will say for spanish i have a few friends doing it and they all say its probably their hardest alevel (basically all of them do other humanities like lit, history etc). But yeah let me know if youve got any more questions I can help with!!

i do lit and dropped history y12

Eng lit is OCR and History is edexcel

eng lit is a hard subject but its really enjoyable. if u liked it at gcse you will like it at a level. the problem specifically for ocr is that the grade boundaries r HORRENDOUS. youll def get a B very chill minimum but a/a* is difficult. the texts are Paper1: Hamlet (i find boring but every1 else ik likes it so its probably a me thing), Paradise Lost Books 9 and 10 in comparison with The Duchess of Malfi (really really interesting). Paper 2: We do the theme "The Immigrant Experience" (the nichest theme w ocr so not much resources online) and half of it is an unseen extract and the other half is "Small Island" (i find it boring and unnecessarily long at bits but def an important book) and "The Reluctant Fundamentalist" (really cool and interesting).

Coursework stuff changes every year. For poertry 15 marks half of the classes get 1 poetry collection and the other side gets another (i think ocean vuongs night sky one is there every year tho). u will get to read the poems and analyse some of them in class then end up picking one to write a close analysis or a recreational piece (write poem in style of poet and i think analyse how its similar). then theres a comparative 25 marker where 1 of the texts will always be a streetcar named desire (favourite text ive done in english) and a different text for each class.

Its hard but enjoyable for sure!

History was alright but for me was just really dull. French rev was interesting but then the other paper is Britain i forgot when i think like late 19th-early 20th century and it was so boring!! once again maybe just me cus ppl did think its interesting and if ure interested in like the political system n stuff u will like it. also coursework on russia which seems interesting. theres one history teacher who is so funny and everyones favourite so if u get her ure very lucky

i dont do econ but its popular and i dont rlly hear anyone complaining ab it.

all ik is theres 1 spanish y13 class and it doesnt seem that bad n the teaching is alright i think from vibes ive gathered

I didn’t think spanish would be so hard,is it the content that’s harder or the actual language
