Immigrant parents

My parents are supportive and significantly less strict than others in terms of education/career but now I’m at point where I’ll have to actually apply to uni and choose the degree that’ll dictate the rest of my life. I can’t sneak or hide what I’m doing. Not that I particularly want to get a ‘useless’ degree necessarily but I can’t even allow myself to consider it. Everyone says it doesn’t matter and it’s your life but they just don’t get it.

Try breaking the choice into smaller steps research the degrees, the subjects you enjoy, the career options, and what skills you’ll gain. Then think about what feels manageable and interesting rather than trying to predict your entire life. It also helps to talk to people who’ve studied or work in the fields you’re considering.
