I have an interview for York to do physiotherapy. What questions are they likely to ask? Thanks

Hello!

Congrats on being offered an interview! While I personally can't tell you any info about what questions might be asked, I can let you know a bit about what to expect on the course and on your interview day. Our cohort for each year is around 60 students. You'd complete 1000 hours of placement (though I'm sure you know that), and the placements can be anywhere from hospitals to home healthcare. In the second year, you have the opportunity to do a placement abroad in your second year! When you come to campus for your interview, you will be alongside other students interviewing for all different types of healthcare courses. You'll be invited to take part in a campus tour so you can get to know a bit about our university, and you'll be invited go to on a facilities tour, where one of our technicians will introduce you to the equipment you might be using throughout your course and show you what we have to offer.

If you have any general questions about our university I'd be happy to answer. Good luck in your interview!:clap2:

Thank you. I have been for a visit which is why I applied but really would like to know more about the interview. Who interviews, how long would it last and do we find out on the day? I suppose not as they will be interviewing so many. Just a little nervous.

Of course, being anxious is completely normal! I promise we will try to make it as comfortable of an experience as possible for you.

Members of staff who run the course will interview you. I can’t remember exactly how long they take, but last time I worked an interview day it was around 30 minutes, but don’t quote me on that! All the interviewees I stewarded came out smiling so be sure our staff will make it comfortable for you

Depending on what day you interview, it could be the same week or the following week that you find out the result. Upon arrival the member of our team who approved all applications will tell you exactly when you’ll find out!

Hope this was helpful, and try your best to take care of yourself and not worry too much  You’ll do great!

Thanks, not a good interview. Couldn’t understand the interviewer, who spoke with a heavy accent and also mumbled. I kept having to ask him to repeat the question. Think he gave up in the end. Not a happy experience.
