Hi I am doing the Btec extended diploma in applied science and want to apply for the foundation years for med at Leicester, UEA, Plymouth and Keele. Has anyone with a Btec gotten accepted into any of these programs?

Go on their websites and look at their entry requirements. Then email their admissions teams and ask if they will accept your qualifications and results.

I should think Bristol now have one of the widest offerings for medicine these days, I didn't know they accepted BTEC.

Can you do an extra chemistry unit the year after?

Hi there! Although I don't study this course, if you have any questions, I'll do my best to answer them as a current student here at Plymouth 🙂

I would highly recommend visiting for an open day though, with 2 upcoming dates found in this link! 😄

Best of luck for your applications!

I am in first year now and we do one unit for chemistry unit 1 Principles and Applications of Science 1. Next year we do 3 chemistry units: unit 5 Principles and Applications of Science 2, Unit 14 Applications of Organic chemistry and unit 16 Industrial chemical reactions I don't think that my sixth form allows extra units also you can only take 13 units so I don't think it would be possible to take the extra unit anyways.

Hi,

Final year medical student from Leicester here. We do accept BTECs on our foundation course. From a quick scan of our website it looks like you will need a minimum of DDD in Applied Science, as well as meeting the rest of the minimum entry requirements. You can find all of our entry requirements here 🙂

Let me know if you have any other questions about Leicester!

Frankie (Final year med student)
