Edinburgh or Sheffield for Landscape Architecture

I’ve received offers for Landscape Architecture at both Sheffield and Edinburgh- both have the same entry requirements of ABB which means I have to choose one for my firm. Is anyone else doing this course or got any advice because I’m still unsure between the two.

Hi,

Congratulations on your offers! I’d recommend visiting both campuses and exploring the cities, as well as speaking to current students, to see which environment feels like the best fit for you.

Hope this helps,

Go to the offer-holder days in Spring as you don't have to make your decisions until May/June. The department talks usually go into more detail than on open days, and you can get another look at the wider uni and city. Also think about living costs and accommodation availability. Edinburgh has a student housing crisis - Sheffield will be cheaper.

Hi @purplelightblue !

Congrats on receiving your offers! Super excited for you!

As other users have said above, visiting universities that you are deciding between for open days can be really helpful. You can get a true feel for the course, the city, and the people, and see where you can most envision yourself studying next year! Departments will usually have current students there to talk about their experiences, and you'll be able to ask them any questions you might have about the course/ Uni life there.

If you have any questions about Landscape Architecture here at Sheffield and would like to speak to a current student prior to an Open Day, you can always chat to someone via our TAP platform here.

Do you have any specific questions about Uni of Sheff that I can help with? 🙂

All the best in making your decision! I'm sure you will have a fantastic time at Uni regardless of where you choose!
