Medicine without Biology A level

My A level subjects are Physics ,Chemistry ,Mathematics , Computer Science and AS level English. So will I be able to apply to universities without Biology A level? If yes , would it be hard for me? What else are necessary for me to do now(Work experience or UCAT)? Does not having Biology puts me into Disadvantage?
My IGCSE Grades are :-
Math A*
Information and communication Tech. A*
Chemistry A*
Biology A*
Eng 2nd lang A*
Physics A
French A
Hindi B

Do universities which mention Chemistry along with Biology/Mathematics/Physics and one other subject , still prefer or students with Biology, even when it's not mentioned?

2026 entry requirements for each UK Medical School - Biology is not always required, and if the Uni website course page does not state 'Biology preferred' then it isn't : UK medical school entry requirements - Medical Schools Council
Only about 1/3 of UK medical schools require A-level Biology.

Drop the English mate it’s pointless

No Medicine degree requires 4 A levels, and taking more than three will give you no advantage at all - the Unis will just ignore the 4th subject. If you are certain that you really do want to do Medicine, drop CS and the AS - a waste of time and energy and just adds to stress.

atp just do another course at uni such as cs or engineering at uni cos it seems u r tryna keep ur options open for everything and actually interested in engineering fields so yeah.
u r free to drop english, pointless.
u r free to drop ONE of cs/physics/chem if workload gets to u (since u r doing 4 alevels)
what were ur gcses

Check the unis websites to see what subjects they specify.
If they say biology, then it would be best you do biology. If they dont, then you would be alright not doing it.
Could you not swap one of your other subjects for biology?

Hi @Neil Hegde,

The answer really various between universities. I recommend looking at the website of the universities you potentially will be interested in attending, then checking their entry requirements. I recommend checking a wide variety so you can really get an idea if biology will be important for you.

When it comes to universities that do not specify the second science they want, then you can do any others alongside chemistry. If they specifically want biology, it will be stated.

Additionally, checking university pages will give you an idea of the type of grade they will be looking for. If your grades are not optimal, it may be ideal to drop the one of the additional subjects to focus on your 3 main A-levels as McGinger said.

I hope this helps, please feel free to ask me any questions,

A level biology doesn't have a great deal of relevance to anything you will learn in medicine. Cell membranes and active transport etc are things you can/will learn in first year anyway.
