choosing the right offer

hi,

i’ve applied for 2 courses at brighton university (environmental science and ecology) with environmental science being my number 1 pick. Today i got an unconditional offer from ecology, and haven’t heard back yet from environmental science. If i do hear back from them and it’s a conditional offer, can i still pick it as my number 1 and have the unconditional as my insurance or is that not the smart option?

both of the subjects have borderline identical first years so apparently it’s easy to swap from one of the other if that has any relevance. so ecology wouldn’t be the end of the world.

thank you

Hi, yes you could do that. But try applying to other unis if you are considering them, and don't forget you have until may to decide - don't box yourself in too early!

Hey @loislester,

Huge congratulations on your unconditional offer! 🥳

If Brighton University is your first choice, it's a good idea to set your unconditional offer for Ecology as your insurance choice: it means that even if your A-Levels results don't go as planned in August, you'll still be able to attend your preferred university (albeit for a slightly different course).

Hopefully you get an offer for Environmental Science soon,
Eve (Kingston Rep).
