Hey everyone, Is anyone going to take part in the Partners program for 2026? Is there anybody that did it before that can give me advice? It's just I don't know what to expect when I go there.

Hi there!
I am so glad you are interested in Newcastle University's PARTNERS Programme! The programme is an amazing opportunity to experience student life and feel more settled about starting university before beginning your university journey in the autumn.
I am a previous PARTNERS student and really valued the programme! You will experience an induction week before you begin PARTNERS where the team will brief you on everything you need to know and you will also receive your timetable for the week. Your timetable will tell you whether you are spending the first half of the week (Sunday-Tuesday) on campus or the second half of the week (Wednesday-Friday) on campus. Either way, when you first get onto campus, there will be lots of staff and student reps to point you in the right direction to collect your smartcard and register your attendance.
Throughout your time on campus, you will experience university teaching in different forms depending on the degree you applied for. This could cover lectures, seminars and practical work. However, it's not all hard work! There is free time throughout the day to explore the city with your new friends and to take part in some of the PARTNERS social activities such as pizza and board games. What's great is you will be able to make friends before you start university, get to know your lecturers and university buildings and understand what life is like as a student!
As for the online sessions, these are pretty simple. There will be online work to complete to help you gain skills relevant and useful for university. You will be introduced to our amazing careers service and be able to join the 'Ask the Experts' session to understand more about your chosen degree and the career paths that can follow. There is an assignment to complete at the end of the summer school but this is not graded! It shows you have engaged with the summer school content and allows your lecturers to give really useful feedback.
My main advice would be to say yes to as many things as possible! I would attend lots of the social activities so you can meet people outside of your subject strand and immerse yourself in the city that may be your new home. I understand it is an overwhelming time but the PARTNERS Programme offers nothing but positive experiences!
