A few questions - so confused!

Hi, I uploaded a household income form, a maintenance loan request form, and a pff2 form, instead of posting it via mail to safe money, should this be fine?

I also uploaded them today, on the 23rd of December, a few weeks later than I planned because my parents refused to complete the pff2 form until very recently despite me giving it to them a few weeks ago to fill out. Will this cause me to be paid later than January, as in sometime in April or after?

Because my family moved to a town roughly 70 miles away from my uni, I live with my uncle nearly 15 miles away from my uni, which can get expensive for travel. Does this count as not living with parents despite me living with them for the remaining 4 days of the week? And if so, how do I let SFE know?

I also work part-time, at a job which has low hours, and I will be sparsely and rarely called in now that the holidays will be over soon, I even had a shift cancelled due to a low customer count today. Because of this, until Spring for a short period and mostly until the summer holidays, I will be highly dependent on my maintenance loan rather than work income, but I checked the box that asked if I will be employed, and I heard that being employed lowers the maintenance loan available to me. I didn't wanna commit fraud by lying about my employment, so is there anything I can do about this?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Hi there, by send the PFF2 form via the digital upload was the best thing to do, as we can usually see this within 1 working day after submission, so that's fine (plus given the time of year, send by post may have taken longer than usual).

Students can be classed under living elsewhere if they live away from the parental home during their studies, and have confirmed the living location address on their application, if so we will assess as such.

Student's are able to work during their studies, however the only income that we would take into consideration when assessing a students finances would be:

Bank or Building Society Gross Interest

Property Lettings or Rent

Dividends from investments/shares/unit trusts

Trusts or Sponsorships

Pensions (any tax free lump sum amount will not be taken into account)

Payment from their employer who has released them to attend their course (employer release)

Any other payment received for attending the course (This does not include university bursaries)

If the student starts to receive unearned income throughout the academic year we do require them to notify us of this change. A covering letter can be submitted (online) advising of the type of income and the amount.

I hope that answers your questions. Stephen

Hi Stephen, thanks for your reply, sorry for not getting back earlier, I was busy with both work and uni. I want to ask, how and where do I notify SFE that I live elsewhere during my studies? Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

On your original application had you indicated you'd be living with parents during the academic year? Thanks, Jason

Yes I did, that was before we moved to Swindon, and so obviously the plan to live with my uncle and aunt didn't arise until after I applied, after the move.

Thank you. You can change this via your account. This video shows how to make a change to your application:

If it doesn't allow you to amend it online it will prompt you to download a CO1 form - which you can amend your living location on and then upload to your account. This will then be amended and updated within a 15 working day estimated timescale. Thanks, Jason

Hello Drew, I was wondering, all I had done was change my contact address, following which, I was given a notification saying "You need to update your application if you're moving away from or back to your parent's home. Go to 'change your application' from your account." I do not know how to specify that the address change was away from my parent's home, could I please get help with this?

Hi there. You should be able to update this under the 'change of course details' section when you select the change applicaiton option from your online account.

There is a question in this section that ask's where you will be living during each term e.g. with parents or elsewhere in own home.

So, you keep your course details as normal, and just update this section to 'elsewhere or own home'. Thanks, Leah.
