I feel stupid

Ive took a break from education to focus on my mental health. Ive always prioritised my education and done really well but never my mental health and I wanted to improve myself before committing to a levels.

So many people have told me I should’ve just pushed through because eveyone else does and a gap in my cv is gonna limit me in life.

I feel like maybe I have done the wrong thing because it seems like eveyone else can push through except from me. But I have pushed through in the past and I no longer can at this moment in time.

I’ve overachieved academically in the past and now it just feels like a waste and that even if do amazing when I go back to a levels, it won’t be much use because obviously a gap doesn’t look good according to many people.

I don’t know who I should listen to anymore.

Hey there,

I’m really sorry that you aren’t feeling great at the moment, but you’ve done so well to keep going despite despite feeling unwell. The most important thing is your health and you have to prioritise this over everything else, concentrate on getting better and feeling stronger and once you do think of all you will be able to achieve. Don’t worry about other people and what they do, just focus on yourself. Gaps in cvs can be explained away, so please don’t forego your health for that.

Is there someone you can talk to? Your parents, a friend, teacher? They will be able to help you as it’s important to talk and reach out to others, who will help you to get the right support and help.

I hope you feel better soon
