UDD to A*AA year 13 mocks

In my mocks I have just received a UDD in English Literature, History and Economics, respectively. Does anyone have any advice for me to take on board to fully change this grade in the best way possible. I am willing to put a lot of work as I am filled with motivation, I just need to know where to start. ANY advice whatsoever will be deeply appreciated thank you so much.

Hi! Sorry to hear your mocks didn't go as you wanted them to. To be fair, it's still the beginning of the school year, and I hear that a lot of people struggle with the first set of mocks, same happened here lol! What I did was in school, after every mock we went through it as a whole in class, just to go over the basics, why this is how it should be answered and what it says on a mark scheme. But for me, to find out where I went wrong, specifically away from the general mistakes and how I can improve myself, was to ask my teachers for a sit-down where they went through my papers with me to see where I went wrong, rather than looking at the test on a larger scale. It was so helpful because they gave me all these tips and tricks and just made me feel better about it afterwards. I also thought about how I revised for these mocks and if there was any other way I could revise that would be more efficient, so maybe also consider your revision techniques, because I changed how I revise, and it is working out so much better now.
I hope this helps, and best of luck

Hiya,

Sorry to hear you didn't get the results you wanted in your mocks! As above, talking to teachers about where you can improve on a one-to-one basis is a good way to go. On top of this, don't be afraid to chop and change your revision techniques if you don't feel them working. For example I also do economics, and I don't make any flashcards but I do for my other subjects. Instead, I spend the bulk of revision doing past exam questions and frequently going over concepts in a 'be the teacher' way. So, possibly try out some different revision techniques till you find one that lands!

Hope this helps 😊
