So, I like some good universities but thier requirments are: If DD then I should do 1 A-level or A-level Maths and now I am at last year of LEVEL 3 course and I want really help that how to engrouge uni's to give offer and I also got CyberEPQ, CAN you tell me what to write email to them to give me offer in and I also checked my personal statement from my local college careers depmartment, which they said my personal statement is Strong. So, I need help getting into good universities and here is the list;

Focus on strategy, not trying to convince every uni.
What you should do now

1.

Apply strategically on UCAS
Pick 3–4 BTEC-friendly universities + 1 aspirational choice
Don’t use all 5 on highly competitive Russell Group options

2.

Email admissions teams directly (before/after applying)
Ask if they’ll consider your Level 3 National Diploma + Cyber EPQ
Mention contextual circumstances briefly. This genuinely influences decisions

3.

Get predicted grades in writing
Ask your college tutor for strong predicted grades
These matter more than the qualification label

4.

Use the EPQ
Make sure your EPQ is clearly referenced in your UCAS application.
Some unis may reduce requirements because of it

Universities from your list (realistic order)
Most realistic / BTEC-friendly

Northumbria

Manchester Metropolitan (MMU)

Oxford Brookes

Leicester

Aspirational (pick ONE)

Loughborough or Lancaster

I would not recommend York given your current qualification.

Hope this helps,
Ulaw,
Alfred.

Hello,

I'm also considering applying to York alongside Sheffield, Nottingham, Loughborough and Leicester to study Computer Science. I do A-level maths, computer science and BTEC Level 3 national EXTENDED diploma in Engineering. In these subjects, I am predicted B,B,D*D*D* respectively. Do you think I should apply to these unis?

Hi!

Glad to hear you're considering lancaster for your studie! I'm not entirely sure how admissions work with non A-level qualifications myself sorry. But if you contact some departments within the uni, they should be able to tell you how it should work with your qualification.

[email protected] -> Cyber Security specific email

[email protected] -> for general Lancaster uni questions

If you have a strong personal statement, that's already great. If you want more advise on getting onto your course, we have dedicates ambassadors to each subject on UniBuddy, which u can find on the app or on the Cybef Security page on lancasters website.

Sorry i couldn't be of much help myself, but hopefully these people should be able to guide you !!

Good luck!

How is even possible you are doing 5Alevels? Are u ok? Only uni's need 3 A level equivalent. Which college do you go to?

There's no harm in trying, just have a range of choices from safe to aspirational.
Have some uni's you are confident will accept those scores.
Does that make sense?

It's not 5 A-Levels, its just WORTH 5 a levels. Maths and comp sci are 2 a levels and I also do engineering which is 1 btec but its worth 3 a levels.
