Im 18 and my dad still controls my sim card

My dad has been taking over my sim card since i was 15 where he has a family sim card on sky and on there he can control how much data he can add and for college now i only get 1-2gb per week and it annoys me so much cuz i really cant do much with that much data except for buying bus/train tickets and most the time the data doesnt work.
Sky had offered 2 sims with unlimited texts/calls for 2 years and its been over the time since months ago

Given that you’re now 18 years old, are you able to get your own sim contract? There are plenty of cheap options available.

Get a job, fund your own usage and break free

You’re 18, you can start the contract yourself, you don’t need your dad’s approval especially if you’re paying it with your own money.

Unless you come from a culture (like mine for example) where it’s not easy to tell your parents even once you turn 18 that you want to do crap and/or pay for crap on your own.
