applying for 2 courses at ucl bartlett

hello!! i am planning to apply to both ucl architecture and engineering and architectural design. this is because although i wanna do architecture more, i think my experience and subjects would allow me to have a higher chance for the engineering and architectural design. do u think this will lower my chances of getting in?? also how competitive is bartlett?!?

What subjects are you doing? I would personally not bother to apply to both courses if you have a clear preference for architecture, I’d simply apply to architecture and use that other choice/slot on a different university.

Not rambling in my opinion, I’ve seen and done worse.

I’ve seen the entry requirements for architecture at UCL barlett and they have no subject specific requirements:
https://www.ucl.ac.uk/prospective-students/undergraduate/degrees/architecture-bsc#tab2-ibdiploma

For Engineering and Architectural Design (https://www.ucl.ac.uk/prospective-students/undergraduate/degrees/engineering-and-architectural-design-meng#tab2-ibdiploma) in terms of subjects they want:
A total of 18 points in three higher level subjects, with no higher-level score below 5. Physics and Mathematics (either Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches or Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation) must be offered at either higher or standard level. A Comprehensive Portfolio of Creative Work required upon invitation, at application stage.

Which you seem to have. I can’t see why lack of art would be that big of an issue especially as your doing DT provided that your portfolio is strong.

@normaw can probably give better advice.

The architecture course at the Bartlett is one of the most competitive courses to get on to and is one of the most creative. You need to be able to show a range of work in your portfolio including freehand drawing skills. Have a look at the following thread which includes advice from an architecture lecturer:

If architecture is what you really want to do but you are concerned about your portfolio, consider taking a year to complete an Art & Design Foundation Diploma at a local college before applying to uni.
