Is Further Maths A-Level Worth it?

I am year 12, currently doing Maths, Computer Science and Business A-Levels and I am predicted A*s on my first report card. My GCSEs are 6 on Eng Lang and 9 on the others. I did GCSE FM. At the start of the year, A-level FM was full and I couldn’t get in for my fourth A-Level. However, now there is space. But I am gonna be fr, I don’t really like maths much, let alone further maths. I did maths completely for business and computer science. I know that oxbridge CS courses now require FM. Would it be worth it to do the catch up work for a subject I don’t really like (I could catch up if I really wanted to) for the option of oxbridge CS?

I would say do it, and then if you really can’t stand it once you’re in it drop it then. But I’d imagine the time for you to switch is running out and you’re just locking yourself out of the option if you don’t. I’m in Y13 doing FM if you have any Qs

Better to do it and drop it (if not needed) than to not do it and regret it. Good luck

I would take it and see how you go.
You could always drop it at a later date if it doesnt work out.
If further maths would be useful for the subjects you want to do, then id go for it.

If you dont really enjoy maths you may want to have a long think about whether a subject like computer science or something econ related like business is a good fit for you, these kinds of subjects require a lot of maths which is draining if you dont enjoy maths as a subject unfortunately.

Do you know the exam board specification your Sixth Form do? Because FM1 is a very short paper and not too difficult to catch up with at all. 😉
