Human-Inspired Artificial Intelligence at Cambridge

Anyone applying to the MPhil or PhD in this course this year? I heard this course was very popular last year, but haven't heard much about the course content since it's so new.

I did apply earlier in December before the funding deadline.

I was invited to an interview for this Human-Inspired AI PhD program, does anyone also received the interview invitation? I've heard that some ppl got admitted without interviews last year, and I'm trying to figure out how to prepare for the interview.

When did you receive an invite? My friend also got one last week but I didn't, so not sure what to make of that since I also heard last year some interviews were not required

I received an invite last Friday and had my interview for the PhD program today. It covered my research background, ideas and interests. I had to prepare a short presentation and then there was lots of time for questions and discussion. It was a really nice, relaxed atmosphere so no need to stress out 🙂

Did you have any informal meeting with your proposed supervisor? I've heard the same, but they all had some sort of communication with the supervisors in advance so there is no need for additional interviews for them. I got the invite last Friday.

Just to clarify, did you say that those who had previous communication with supervisors didn't need an additional interview?

Yes, it’s optimal and up to the supervisors in this case, as far as I know.

Got it, that's honestly a big relief. I haven't received any interview notification yet, but I hope it's because I've already been in sufficient contact with my proposed supervisor.

You mentioned that you received an interview. Were you in contact with your proposed supervisor beforehand, if you don't mind me asking?

We’ve been in contact only via 1 email with no further communications, no informal meetings.

We only contacted once via email and no more meetings whatsoever.

Hey, has anyone heard anything about the PhD? It's approaching 10 weeks since the funding deadline

My status switched to "Decision Pending". I had my interview around a month ago. Did anyone receive an offer or rejection yet?

The PhD or MPhil? Anyone without an interview but a status change?

I got the interview about 1 week later than you and still got the “under review” status. Congrats btw, usually a DP means an offer. I just wonder if this status change happens all at the same time or it’s different for different applicants?🙏🏻

Thank you! I don't want to get my hopes up before I receive an official offer. But from what I could find online DP is a good sign. I think the status change happens on a rolling basis, as they work their way through the applications.
