how does dickens represent the theme of charity and christmas spirit?-stave one when fred visits scrooge
answer- In this extract Dickens represents the theme of christmas spirit to be controversial between two mortal opposites scrooge and fred dickens constructs fred’s persona to be more social, extroverted and caring however with scrooge dickens constructs him to be an opposite of fred dickens does this by molding scrooge into a apathetic, ostracised and parcimonious character in this extract.
In this extract dickens portrays fred to have more of a vivid christmas spirit in contrast to scrooge dickens does this by making fred greet scrooge with a jolly manner”merry christmas to you uncle!cried a cheerful voice” fred is portrayed to be a bundle of joy and care one who is filled with the christmas spirit “he cried in a cheerfull voice” indicates his happiness not only for christmas but to see his uncle scrooge. fred also blessed scrooge which shows his merciful persona and christmas spirit and typical christian values further more nearer to the end fred states”there are many things from which i have might derived good by which i have not profited” this contrast scrooge parcimonious values with fred care and loving values as fred means to say that he doesn’t do thing for materialistic idiologies like scrooge or for profitable cause he does it for other people and with the christmas spirit in him.
however scrooge completely lacks and disregards the christmas spirit as he is to invested in his materialism and persuit for income that he he’s potentially forgotten how to be compassionate for people in society as scrooge values percimoneus and apathetic values over the christmas spirit and society in general .

Maybe its the a level brain coming back to me, but from what i remember from gcse literature (i got an 80, you need about 3 paragraphs an introdution and conclusion to get top band marks. Im not sure if you want just this paragraph being marked, or if this is your essay. If this is the whole essay personally i would grade it 7/30 for lack of a conclusive structure. Your analysis is really good, contrasting scrooge and Fred's character works well but perhaps you could do a paragraph on each character seperately? - Again im not too sure, i think it lacks quotes to analysis ratio and the argument should be embedded within.
