How Can I Create Wikipedia Page ?

Hello everyone, I need help and suggestions. My course instructor has just given us an assignment to create a Wikipedia page creation about ourselves, but I'm confused about where to start and what to write, and how can I make sure my words and content align with the guidelines? Many of my classmates are hiring professionals, but currently I don't have the means to do that.

I suggest that you make your teacher aware that 'others are hiring professionals' even if you do not name them - its hardly honourable conduct is it?

I mean honestly if they can't do a basic task that thousands of people do for free every day on wikipedia and other wikis I think your classmates might be irredeemably incompetent.

I imagine the entire point of the assignment is not the output of the completed wikipedia page, but for you to actually learn what is involved in creating such a page and thinking about what bits of information should be included vs what is not relevant, and in being able to interpret and follow published style guides etc.

So actually figuring out all the stuff you are asking about is...kind of what you're supposed to be doing :smile:

The guidelines suggest that you should only be creating articles about people who are "notable":

'For people, the person who is the topic of a biographical article should be "worthy of notice" or "note"—that is, "remarkable" or "significant, interesting, or unusual enough to deserve attention or to be recorded" within Wikipedia as a written account of that person's life.'

Yes, I was going to say that an actual Wikipedia page should be about a notable figure. Otherwise it will just be promptly deleted. Unless they mean a wiki style page, there are lots of fandom wikis with their own guidelines that presumably run off some variation of the Wikipedia backend.

How Can I Create Wikipedia Page ?
