z's gyg 2025-2026 gcses!!

hey guys!
in year eleven and am aiming for hopefully nines (maybe one eight and a seven!!)

predicted grades:
maths higher edexcl 9
CS ocr 9
english lit cie 9
english lang edexcel igcse 9
biology aqa 9
chemistry aqa 9
physics aqa 9
spanish edexcel igcse higher 8
geography edexcel igcse 9
religus studies edquas 8

the spanish grade is definetly too high i think im more likely to get a 7 or below (spanish is my personal hell). Im best at stem subjects and am planning to do maths, fm, econ and cs at alevel (and maybe do smth like econ and finance at uni!)

i have mocks in a week (really underprepared compared to year 10) and have been prioritising spanish, religion and english as those are the hardest for me! fear my grades are probably going to be lower than last year just becuase of the lack of work ive done but thats okay i guess!!

yesterday i was quite productive doing around five hours on a physics past paper, literature quotes and going over some language texts!

let myself sleep in today and am hoping to focus on Spanish speaking and grammar, Shakespeare and a maths past paper... timetables written for the day and hoping to finish up around 6.

i also cw to watch the stranger things finale, watched 30 mins so far!!

Hi, I’m currently in yr 11 too and I’m constantly getting grade 6’s for my maths papers. I have my mock in a couple of weeks and I’ve been using websites such as first class maths and maths genie but I think using my time effectively is always a problem. How do you think I should start revising to get atleast a grade 8 in my maths mock. (If I don’t get an 8 I’m in potential risk of moving down from set 1 :/)

i first wrote out a list of topics covered form year 9 through to now chronologically and identified my worst topics (eg nth term, vectors, functions, etc) and watched first class maths videos on those until im happy with how the theory works across the majority of content. then questions is all you can do, i use my classwork ones and dr forst and just do a ton. start with your weakest areas but try and do some questions on everything by the end (well thats what i did for year 10 mocks, i did about an hour of maths a day for a 2-3 weeks and ended up getting 119/120!, for my mocks now ive decided not to focus on my maths so we'll see what happens...). you can do some older full past papers to gauge progress over time but theres not many so dont overuse them (our school gave us four to use for revision and told us not to do any others). i think make a schedule from now till the exam and work through topics in a logical order of what needs to most work. i hope it goes amazingly!!

update! ended up not having the best day because i only got about 6 hours of sleep (got back at 3:30 from new years) and i just couldn't seem to focus. i did a small bit of Spanish this morning (like 45 minutes), a maths paper at 4, and am currently trying to learn 40 of my 120 midsummer quotes! not very happy with myself becuase mocks are in 6 days and cant afford to get too behind on my timetable but theres nothing i can do right now! hoping tmr is more productive and planning on going to bed at like 9:30... fingers crossed!
